The below Rental Terms apply ONLY for Bookings made through our websites (easirent.com, easirentvans.com, ie.easirent.com). For bookings that you made with Easirent through other websites please refer to their advertised terms and conditions or your Rental Voucher.
1. Booking Procedure
Our Booking Reservation systems show you real-time availability and your reservation will be confirmed instantly. We offer a simple yet comprehensive booking process that will allow you to reserve your vehicle easily.
Select Pick-up and Drop-off (if different), Rental Locations, and Dates/Times. You will be presented with available Van groups that you can book instantly. You can filter our results by selecting insurance cover (Standard CDW or Reduced Excess), Fuel Type (Petrol or Diesel), and Transmission Type (Manual). Next to each Van group you will find an (i) icon with information on the particular rental van. Prices are also presented as Daily Rate and the Reservation Total to help you compare rates.
Choose your desired Van group by clicking Book Now! You will be presented with all the information about your booking. Chosen Van Group, Pick Up/Drop Off Locations, Date, Time, and the total amount of your Reservation. You can then complete your details such as Name, Email, Telephone, Flight Number.
After you have completed your reservation you can also add extra items to your bookings such as additional drivers, and baby seats. You will also receive a confirmation email/voucher explaining all relevant Pick-Up information and details.
2. Payment Methods
We accept all Credit and Debit Cards. Please note that in order to be able to collect your van you either must have a credit card in the driver’s name or you can upgrade to our reduced Excess and pay with your debit card. All Easirent Branches do not accept cash payments.
3. Van Types
The Van displayed and models are our most common vehicles in the category. We will provide you with either this model or a similar vehicle in size and engine type.
We cannot guarantee that the make or model of the rental Van will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website.
4. Mileage Allowance
Easirent have mileage allowances in place for van hire reservations, Easirent’s generous allowance is almost double the average van miles driven per annum* (*source: Motorcheck.ie March 2023). Please contact us for more information.
Ireland van bookings Free Mileage Allowance
1-2 days 240 KM per day
3-6 days 160 KM per day
7 days or more 840 weekly (charged @ EUR 0.20 per km)
If you exceed these allowances you will be charged at EUR 0.20 per km
Example, 50 extra km driven = €10.00
5. Cancellation Policy
Free cancellations apply to Easirent online bookings. Should you wish to cancel your booking please see our “Manage My Booking” page www.easirent.com/manage
You can cancel your Easirent booking up to 30mins before the scheduled collection time.
If you fail to tell us of your cancellation prior to the scheduled collection time or do not arrive to collect your reserved hire vehicle, we will charge you up to 3 days rental. Please note if you fail to meet the “Drivers Requirements” section below, a free cancellation is no longer valid.
6. Driver’s Requirements
Driver’s Age. Min-Max Age of Drivers: 23 – 75 Years Old. All drivers must hold their driving license for at least 1 year. Drivers aged 23 and 24 years old must have held their full driving license for a minimum of two years and are subject to a Young Drivers surcharge of 40 EUR per day. Additionally, Young Drivers must book/ rent vans up to, and including, a short wheelbase (SWB).
Drivers over 75 Must bring a medical certificate from there doctor declaring them fit to drive Proof that they are insured in there own vehicle.
We would recommend that drivers over the age of 75 call us directly on +353 1 695 0324 or email ie.reservations@easirent.com to confirm eligibility.
Age-related charges and restrictions will apply to all additional drivers.
Driver’s License.
International hirers must present a valid license from their country of residence and their passport. If the license is not written in English then an International driver permit is also required.
We cannot accept North Korean driving license for insurance purposes, South Korean is acceptable.
Points – endorsements. Minor offences such as speeding/traffic signals are acceptable up to a maximum of 6 points. If you have any bans or convictions in the last 5 years please call us before making a reservation.
7. Insurance & Covers (Included in our prices)
Third-Party Liability Protection (TP): Third-Party liability covers the driver’s liability for damage to any third-party property. The hirer is still liable for the excess amount, as stated on the rental agreement. Excess waiver insurance can be purchased to reduce the excess amount.
Fire and Theft Waiver (FTW): Theft Waiver limits the driver’s liability for costs incurred by fire or theft of the rental van – or damage incurred by the theft or attempted theft – up to 2900 EUR, subject to the terms of the rental agreement.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Collision Damage Waiver limits the driver’s liability (excess) up to 2900 EUR in the event that the rental Van is damaged, subject to the rental agreement. This protection applies to all authorized drivers of the rental Van only.
You can reduce your liability (excess) to €750 at the Rental Desk or you can Reduce your excess online or at the rental desk.
Security Deposit: A Security Deposit equal to your liability (excess) is required to be taken from the main driver’s Credit Card. The Security Deposit is NOT held when Reduced Excess is chosen.
8. Van Deposits and Covers
Is there a deposit payable?
A zero deposit option is available if excess protection is taken out for hire on vans, these limit your liability in the event of any damage that may occur.
Easirent vans insurance does not cover contents and multi-drop use.
Excess reduction on vans starts from €30 per day. Deposits can only be made with the hirer’s credit card for 2900 EUR pre-authorization.
9. Included in All Our Rates
Republic of Ireland Limited Mileage: Van mileage allowances are in place for Republic of Ireland rentals.
VAT Local Tax: VAT on van hire in the Republic of Ireland is charged at 23% for all rental lengths. VAT is included in our online prices.
Road Fund Tax / VLF: Vehicle Licensing and road tax is included in our online prices
24/7 Nationwide Breakdown Assistance: All Easirent Branches have national assistance should the renter require it in the unlikely event of a breakdown. You will be given the number and contact details when you collect your vehicle.
One Way Rentals: If the drop off location is other than the pick up and additional fee is calculated in our rates. This surcharge is included in our rates and will show at the information banner at the top of the screen when a one way rental is requested.
10. Not Included in Our Rates (Optional Extras)
Baby Seat (0-4yrs old): €8 per day bought online €12.50 per day at the rental desk (max charge 10 Days)
Child Booster Seat (4+yrs old): €6 per day bought online €10.50 per day at the rental desk (max charge 10 Days)
Cross Border Travel (Northern Ireland): Travel from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland must be authorised by Easirent before commencement of the rental. Where travel is authorised, a Cross Border Fee of €35 will be charged to the rental. Where a vehicle enters Northern Ireland without prior authorisation, an Unauthorised Cross Border administration charge of €75 will apply to cover insurance administration and compliance costs.
Additional Driver: €10 per day bought online €12 per day at the rental desk.
Free Extra Driver: From time to time, we advertise a “Free Extra Driver” as part of a promotion. If you qualify for a free extra driver, this will be confirmed via email as well as being stored in your booking record for our staff members to see on the day of your collection. If you arrive at branch and there is no record of the Free Extra Driver offer, our rental staff will contact the Social Media Team to confirm eligibility.
11. Fuel Policy
Easirent Van bookings operate a level to level fuel policy, no fuel deposit is required on any van hire reservation.
If the van is returned with less fuel than was provided at the start of hire, the refueling charge is €3.00 per litre, plus a refueling admin fee of €9.50. All prices are plus tax.
*No refund for any unused fuel at the end of the rental.
12. Vehicle Telematics and GPS
Easirent vehicles may be fitted with GPS, telematics and other vehicle monitoring systems. These systems are used for legitimate business purposes including:
- locating stolen or overdue vehicles;
- providing roadside assistance;
- assisting emergency services following a collision;
- protecting customers and staff;
- investigating insurance claims;
- monitoring vehicle health;
- investigating serious breaches of the Rental Agreement;
- complying with legal obligations.
Personal data collected through these systems will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and Easirent’s Privacy Policy.
Crash Detection: Where a significant impact or collision is detected, Easirent may attempt to contact the renter and, where appropriate, notify roadside assistance, emergency services or other relevant agencies to ensure the safety of the vehicle occupants.
13. Road Traffic Accidents and Incident Reporting
If you are involved in any road traffic accident, collision, theft, fire, criminal damage or incident involving the rental vehicle, you must:
- Stop the vehicle immediately where it is safe and lawful to do so.
- Check whether anyone has been injured and, where necessary, contact the emergency services by dialling 999 or 112.
- Where required by law, report the incident to An Garda Síochána and comply with all legal obligations under the Road Traffic Acts.
- Take all reasonable steps to prevent further damage to the vehicle or danger to other road users.
- Notify Easirent as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within 24 hours of the incident.
- Complete Easirent’s Accident Report Form fully and honestly, including a sketch of the incident.
- Obtain the following information where possible:
- Names, addresses and contact details of all drivers involved.
- Vehicle registration numbers.
- Insurance company and policy details.
- Photographs and videos of the vehicles, scene of accident, road layout and damage.
- Contact details of any independent witnesses.
- Not admit liability, negotiate settlement or make any payment to another party without Easirent’s prior written consent.
- Cooperate fully with Easirent, its insurers and any investigating authorities throughout the handling of the claim.
14. Dangerous Driving
Easirent reserves the right to terminate the Rental Agreement immediately where reliable evidence, including telematics data, indicates that the vehicle is being driven in a manner that presents a serious risk to public safety. This includes, but is not limited to:
- excessive or repeated excessive speeding;
- dangerous acceleration or dangerous braking;
- reckless cornering;
- racing or drifting;
- off-road driving;
- deliberate misuse of the vehicle;
- reckless driving or other conduct which may endanger persons or property.
Upon termination of the Rental Agreement for dangerous driving:
- the rental shall end immediately;
- insurance cover may become void;
- no refund will be payable for unused rental days;
- the customer will be responsible for vehicle recovery costs and all associated expenses.
Reporting to An Garda Síochána: Where Easirent reasonably believes that a serious criminal offence or dangerous driving offence has occurred, or where required by law, court order, insurance obligations or lawful request from An Garda Síochána, Easirent reserves the right to disclose relevant information, including telematics and location data, in accordance with applicable law.
15. Important Information
Unused rental days: Should the hirer decide to return an Easirent vehicle back to our branch earlier than you originally planned, we shall not refund you for unused rental days.
Traffic Fines: If the vehicle receives a fine during the rental period, you will be responsible for full payment of the fine as well as a €75 traffic fine management fee per fine.
Out of Hours Charge: If the Pick Up or Drop Off time is outside the Rental Branches’ operating hours there will be a €30 per hour fee.
DVLA Call for UK License Holders check : Failure to bring the code will result in a call to the premium rate DVLA number incurring an additional charge of €10.
Valeting Fee: If the Van requires more than the usual standard cleaning on its return to restore it to its pre-rental condition, allowing for fair wear and tear, a valeting fee of between €25 and €180 will apply depending on the condition of the vehicle. See the Cleaning Charges table below.

15.2 Smoking, Vaping and E-Cigarette Policy
Smoking, vaping and the use of e-cigarettes or any similar devices is strictly prohibited in all Easirent vehicles.
If there is evidence that smoking or vaping has taken place in the vehicle during the rental period, the renter will be liable for a specialist cleaning and odour removal charge of €350. Evidence may include, but is not limited to:
- Cigarette ends, ash or tobacco residue.
- Burn marks.
- Vape residue.
- Strong smoke or vape odours identified during inspection.
- Photographs.
- Staff inspection reports.
- Specialist cleaning reports where applicable.
Easirent will retain reasonable evidence supporting the charge and may provide this to the renter upon request. The charge reflects the cost of specialist cleaning, odour neutralisation, vehicle downtime and loss of rental availability while the vehicle is being restored to a smoke-free condition.
Pets: You are permitted to have pets in your hire vehicle provided they are within a carrier at all times. If the vehicle requires cleaning of pet hair or odour then you will be billed for a valeting fee at the branches discretion.

17. Customer Disputes
Customers who dispute a charge may contact Easirent within 14 days via the Easirent booking portal at www.easirent.com/manage or through their broker. Easirent will review all available evidence before issuing a final decision.
